Just wondering what you are up to with all the templates and new pages you are making. I can't speak for Elaine and I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure we are not going to have a separate page for the empowered version of every proc. What I can say is that this would definitely be something to ask Elaine about before you do it, since if it's not what she wants, she will have to be the one to go through and delete all the things you are making.

Procs- icon.png

I have just, for the second time, deleted the image you have given this name.

"Procs- icon.png" is a placeholder for the name of an actual image. It is not something that requires its own image.

It is in the Proc-qua-proc template to make it easier for someone who is filling in the details of a new page.

Don't do that again, please.

Crimson helmet page

I have just reviewed and corrected several things on the Crimson helmet page.

I'd appreciate it if you would review the differences between the page as you edited and the changes that I have made, so that some of the problems with this page can be avoided in the future.

  • When you are creating a new page like this, please call the Armour template by typing {{Subst: Armour}} as the first content in the page and immediately saving. When you then re-open the page, you will have all of the standard boilerplate options available to you. (And I won't have to either add them or correct what you ahve done).
  • Type: You listed the type as "bound" which was true, but is not particularly useful. By listing it as "Bound head armour" we are giving the user much more information very quickly.
  • You pretended that there was a template for the box called "Caroline" — there isn't. The correct way to indicate an item that can be purcahsed with victory points is now shown in the box.
  • In the quote template, the text of the quote is formatted in italics and a larger size — both of which indicate that the material is a quote. The quote marks you included are unnecessary.
  • Under requirements, you had "to use" the Crimson helmet -- please include "to purchase and use" in these situations.
  • Under "Set", you included a circular reference to the page you were editing. "Crimson helmet" did not belong in a list of items that could be used with the Crimson helmet. And if, for some reason, you were including the name of the page in a list on the page, you would not give it a link ... linking from a page to itself is neither helpful nor useful.
  • You also missed the paragraph that describes how a set bonus is applied and refers the reader to either the set page itself (which I notice you didn't set up) to to the group "Sets" page -- which also needs the information about this set added to it.

I hope all that makes sense -- if you have questions, please let me know sooner rather than later...

And thanks!

The procs page

I was just reviewing the changes on the procs page and have a few comments for you:

  • You said: [[Environmental procs|Environmental procs]]... You don't need to repeat the link text if it's the same as the title of the linked page — in other words, you could simply have entered that page as [[Environmental procs]] and the effect would have been the same.
  • You named a section "Abom procs". Please do not do this. First of all, the word "Abominable" should be spelled out, not abbreviated in a way that would be unfamiliar to many wiki users. Second, these procs are not "abominable", they are procs related to abominable creatures. There is a difference, and we must be clear about what we are referencing.
  • We are standardizing on at least a 20px size for proc icons, followed by two non-breaking spaces before the name for presentation. I am not convinced that the images add anything useful on this page so would be interested in understanding why you added those images.
  • You made 20 separate changes to this page today -- which required 20 different reviews on my part. If you are dong a substantial amount of work on a single page like this, please try to group those changes together.

I am continuing to work on the procs page right now.

I see your point about using the images, and will keep that in mind. Since there are a number of procs that fall into more than 1 category, I am thinking about moving the groupings off of the proc page itself and to the appropriate other page ... the problem with the groupings (handy as they are!) is that they make it more difficult to find a particular proc if you don't already know what grouping it falls into. I'll see what I come up with ...

Hey there!

The next time you come across a page that has a mis-spelled title (and there's a page with the correct title in existence, you don't need to blank the page ... just stick the deletion template in and I'll be able to quickly check and delete the problematic page.

Make sense? (and that way, nobody will have a heart attack wondering what itis you just removed... lol.)

Edit summaries

You are still not filling in the edit summary when you work on a page.

Please make sure that you put a brief description of what you have been working on into the edit summary to make it easier for the senior editors and me to review the page changes.
