Description

Synergies are something to keep in mind when building a setup — you create a synergy by using as many damage-enhancing procs of a single damage school as possible.

Compound stacking

Compound stacking is a type of calculation that helps determine the final damage done by your vampire.

The amount of damage you do is calculated based on multiplying the various damage percentages of your procs rather than simply adding the percentages together. This means that the amount of damage you do can increase very quickly when you combine various damage-enhancing procs of one damage school in your setup.

Building a synergistic setup

Establish a base

99% of the time your weapon's damage school will be the starting point in building a succesfull synergy.

Weapon damage is a big part of the total damage you will do per round, so getting as many damage-enhancing procs for that damage type will get you the most bang for your buck.

If you're going to focus on a healing build, you won't start out focusing on your weapon's damage school. Your base will be healing capabilities, and we'll discuss it more later.

Damage-enhancing procs

Damage-enhancing procs are offensive buffs that your vampire can gain throughout the battle.

Each damage school has 2 types of damage-enhancing procs: a buff and a curse.

Buffs

Buffs add 5% more damage per level and generally have a high procrate. Buffs always have an upward arrow in their picture.

Building upon the base

Once you have picked your starting weapon, it's time to check what else you can work with.

Many low-level items can be viable choices when synergising. Gloves, head armor and boots all make a fairly small impact in the total absorbtion your Vampire has, because of that items found in the early regions can still be great to use as a high level Vampire.

Testing

Since we have so many items to choose from it's important to test which items will work the best for you. Will you take an item with a really high damage-enhancing proc (10% more damage) and a low procrate or do you want an item that gives a smaller damage-enhancing proc (5% more damage) and a high procrate.

An item that looks the best on paper does not have to be the best in practice, so always test your setup.
