| Summoning items
Summoning items are a special type of magical item that allows you to summon an epic boss or a coven boss (depending on the item) into battle.
Summoning a boss destroys the summoning item, unless you have put talent points into the Invocation of the old ones talent from the champion talent tree, which gives a chance that your summoning item will not be destroyed when you use it.
Epic boss summoning
Epic boss summoning works slightly differently in the portals and in normal locations, depending on your platform.
Players on the Stand-alone game and the Facebook platform have additional requirements when fighting certain epic bosses that are not shared by players on the Kongregate platform and the ArmorGames platform.
See the specific epic boss page for additional information.
The epic boss summoning items from normal locations can be disenchanted.
The summoning items from portal locations cannot be disenchanted.
Coven boss-summoning items (Orbs}
Orbs are used to summon coven bosses. Each location has its own orb available:
Some orbs can be disenchanted. See the individual item pages for details.
Each summoning item is dropped in only one location—the location where it can be used.
During special events such as All hallow's week the wandering merchant may have summoning items available for sale. These tokens are not cheap ... let the buyer beware!
