Description


A kraken staff is a bound psychic staff-style weapon.

Requirements

You must be at least level 116 and have at least 60 control points to craft and use the kraken staff.

Damage

The kraken staff has the ability to deal between 75 and 90 psychic damage against an opponent in each round of a battle.

Passive abilities

A kraken staff increases your chance of hitting an opponent by 8%.

A kraken staff also increases the chance you will make a critical hit on an opponent by 6%.

Weapon proficiency

The kraken staff is a staff. Your setup with a kraken staff will gain additional skills as your staff proficiency increases.

Staff proficiency adds heal 3 to your staff-weapon setup at level 1, heal 5 at level 2, and heal 7 at level 3.

The glyph of the adept used with the kraken staff will count each battle as two towards staff proficiency.

Glyphs

Using the kraken staff with the glyph of the adept will increase the damage dealt by the kraken staff by 20%.

Inscriptions

You can inscribe a kraken staff with any of the wrath inscriptions for weapons. The proc associated with the lifebound wrath inscription increases the chance to resist hostile procs, while each of the other wrath inscriptions has an offensive buffs that gives a chance to increase the amount of damage from a particular damage school that is dealt against an opponent.

Procs

You may gain one or more of the following procs while using the kraken staff:

  • Procs-Flourish.png  Flourish: The flourish proc is a defensive proc that removes one instance of the necrosis proc per level from an opponent. Flourish is a level 3 proc on a kraken staff.
  • Procs-Healing icon.png  Heal: The heal proc is a defensive buff that will over time heal a certain percentage of damage that has been dealt by an opponent. Heal is a level 6 proc on a kraken staff.
  • Procs-Mind spike.png  Mindspike: The mindspike proc is an offensive proc that deals periodic psychic damage against an opponent throughout the course of a battle. Mind spike is a level 10 proc on a kraken staff.
  • Procs-Mind spike.png  Mindspike: The mindspike proc is an offensive proc that deals periodic psychic damage against an opponent throughout the course of a battle. [[]] is a level 6 proc on a kraken staff.
  • Procs-Mind spike.png  Mindspike: The mindspike proc is an offensive proc that deals periodic psychic damage against an opponent throughout the course of a battle. Mind spike is a level 6 proc on a kraken staff.
  • Procs-Seduction.png  Seduction: Used at the beginning of combat, the seduction proc is a defensive buff that reduces the opponent's chances of making a critical hit during the battle. Seduction is a level 5 proc on a kraken staff.
  • Procs-Seduction.png  Seduction: Used at the beginning of combat, the seduction proc is a defensive buff that reduces the opponent's chances of making a critical hit during the battle. Seduction is a level 5 proc on a kraken staff.
  • Procs-Shield.png  Shield: The shield proc is a defensive buff that reduces incoming damage from vampiric creatures (or from other players in PvP) for the remainder of combat. Shield is a level 3 proc on a kraken staff.
  • Procs-Void grau.png  Spellbreaker: The spellbreaker proc is a disruptive proc that gives a chance to prevent an opponent from gaining any feats or procs for one combat round.

You must craft the kraken staff with the assistance of Dick Ryder, the local merchant for the Underwater city.
