The embrace of darkness is a piece of chest armor.


You must be at least level 9 and have at least 12 constitution points to be able to craft and use the embrace of darkness.

Defensive support

The embrace of darkness has the ability to absorb between 8 and 13 damage in each round of a battle.


You can enchant the embrace of darkness with any of the scorn inscriptions for chest armor. The scorn inscriptions allow you to add specific damage over time or healing over time procs to your setup.

The embrace of darkness can be combined with one or more of the following items to form the set end of all hope:

When 2 or more set items are used together, your entire set-up receives an additional bonus. See the end of all hope page or the sets page for more information about those bonuses.



You can only craft the embrace of darkness by visiting the Undead broker in Crows Hill Cemetery.


Collect the following items to craft the embrace of darkness:


You cannot trade or give an embrace of darkness to another player.


You cannot disenchant an embrace of darkness.

You can remove the embrace of darkness from your inventory by scrapping it and receiving 900 credits in exchange.


  • 1 June 2010: The embrace of darkness chest armor was included in the first release of Chronicles of Blood.
  • 15 April 2011: The embrace of darkness became unenchantable.
