Demon of the sea
We were made today to witness a gruesome spectacle.
The king invited us to 'enjoy' a lavish ceremony —in truth
it was nothing but a cruel sacrifice. A band of hopeless men,
not unlike ourselves, were released above a dark chasm in
the sea-floor. As they desperately attempted their escapes
a repulsive purple light grew in the darkness.
The monstrosity that arose to devour them is venerated
by the king and the rest of the city, but how can anyone
worship a creature of such terrible malice?
