Description

Crows Hill Cemetery is the first location a newly-risen vampire can access in Chronicles of Blood. It is the only location you can access while you are at levels 1–10.

Environmental proc

Procs-R1 proc.png     Every region has what's known as an environmental proc which is a twist of fate that may damage you or your opponent in each battle.
The environmental proc in Crows Hill Cemetery is chill of the grave, which can randomly deal shadow damage to either participant in a battle.

Adversaries

As well as the chance to battle other players, you face two types of foes here in Crows Hill, creatures and epic bosses. The creatures grow stronger as their level increases, while the epic bosses require additional effort (and help from other vampires) for you to beat them.

Epic bosses

There are also epic bosses for you to fight in Crows Hill Cemetery once you have gained some strength and knowledge.

You must acquire and then use and destroy the summoning item, desecrated earth, to bring one of the bosses to a battle.

If you play on Facebook or the standalone Chronicles of Blood site, you will also require the assistance of your coven and/or your guild to defeat the bosses that strike fear even in the Lord of the undead!

If you play on Armorgames or on Kongregate, you do not need guild help to defeat these epic bosses.

Don't neglect fighting other vampires while you are in Crows Hill Cemetery. There are certain types of equipment that you can only gain if you do PvP.

If you lose a PvP battle, you don't lose any credits, and if you are the one defending the battle, any blood you lose during a battle is automatically restored at the end of the battle.

Notes on equipment

Accessories

Until you reach level 30, you can use two accessories in your setup at any one time.

Mount

Most of the mounts give you a burst of damage at the beginning of combat, which is a significant advantage in many battles. While mounts are often a significant investment (of time or money), don't overlook them when planning for future equipment to acquire.

Note: While the frost ram can be crafted at the undead broker's at level 5, most players are at significantly higher levels when they finally acquire all the manuals needed to craft it.

Weapon

You can use one weapon at a time. You will want to acquire weapons of different damage types, since some weapons will be ineffective against creatures that deal the same type of damage that the weapon does.

Trainer

You are not totally alone as you begin your journey through Chronicles of Blood. One resource to take advantage of is the trainer in each region. The trainer is where you receive and turn in quests and where you go to enslave new servants.

The old witch has quests for you to undertake (and rewards for your success). Visit her from the Quests Blue arrow right.png Trainer (PvE/PcB link in-game.

Quests

Learn new skills and grow in power by completing these quests.

Most quests reward you with scrolls (what you use to learn and increase vampiric powers), experience points, and cash. A few quests reward you with an accessory or other types of loot.

Try to do those quests as frequently as possible.

All quests are repeatable. In Crows Hill Cemetery, you must wait 24 hours after you finish a quest to start it again.

See the old witch for additional details about each quest.

Servants

The old witch will also help you create some ever-lasting servants, once you bring her the appropriate number of words of command. The words of command are dropped as loot by various creatures.

The words of command for the vampire bat servant are only dropped by the epic bosses, not by normal creatures.

Merchants

Coraline's shop

Coraline is the house merchant in Club noir. She has a number of different services available, as well as blood pearls and glyphs for sale.

Use credits, blood sapphires, and blood badges as currency, depending on what you're buying.

Ivan the battlemaster

Ivan the battlemaster is the trainer and merchant for those specializing in PvP play. You can always get access to the battlemaster's store and its wares.

You can see items for sale that require a level up to your own level plus 5.

Currency in Ivan's shop may be victory points, blood sapphires, and credits, or a combination.

Jeweller

The jeweller in Club noir can cut your raw amethysts, emeralds, and sapphires into specialty gems. You can also purchase pre-cut gems there.

You will probably not have any amethysts or emeralds to use when you are first in the Crows Hill Cemetery, but remember that her shop is there.

Undead broker

The Undead broker is the local merchant who is only available in Crows Hill Cemetery.

The undead broker has a variety of items available for sale, and can help you craft esoteric items once you bring him the appropriate crafting materials. You can see here a complete list of the items available for crafting or purchasing from the undead broker. Within the undead broker's shop, you can only see items that are available at or below your own level, or up to your own level plus 5.

Find the undead broker through the Club noir Blue arrow right.png Merchant link in-game.

Loot

Creatures drop a variety of loot items. Some loot drops are very common; some are very rare.

In Crows Hill Cemetery the rarest loot drop from a creature is unholy essence. It is not unusual for players to reach level 20 or above without having received an unholy essence loot drop.

Common loot

Among the items that are commonly dropped as loot (in Crows Hill Cemetery and elsewhere) are:

Cemetery-specific loot

Loot items that are only dropped at Crows Hill Cemetery (or are dropped here and at one or two other locations) include:

Boss-specific loot

Loot items that are only dropped by the epic bosses here in the cemetery are:
